MtnCtrld Self-portrait MtnCtrld Self-portrait The main idea of this performance is de- and reconstruction of well-knowned, classical self-portrait concept as a form based on contemporary e-media. Of course a self-portrait is common mostly for fine arts, but in this realization visual and sound components are existing as equal. In this action the camera is shooting the performer's face and gestures. The video stream is processed by motion tracking system and special sensors to capture abstract data (vector based numerical representation of moving areas in the video stream) which may be treated as a contemporary equivalent of traditional way of image reproduction. From technical point of view the performance is based on motion tracking system and additional set of movement sensors (ultra-high frequency "ping" sensors). Data taken from the motion tracking and the sensors are transformed into sound structures and are applied to realtime image processing software. |
